The content of histocompatibility antigens in the liver approaches their content in the organs of the immune system and is significantly higher than in other organs and tissues. In terms of the amount of TETA antigen, after brain and thymus tissues, the liver ranks third. The liver is also a unique organ where neuraminic acids are synthesized.
