Abstract

The topic "Systematics, structure, distribution and significance of viruses" aims to study the biological properties of viruses and their threat to human life, economy and ecology. Viruses are microscopic organisms that cannot survive on their own, but can only reproduce in cellular host systems. This thesis analyzes the structure of viruses, the type of genetic material, the process of evolutionary development, their systematic classification and biological activity. Viruses are widespread in various ecosystems and can transmit many diseases, including among humans, animals and plants. Viruses are of great importance not only in microbiology, but also in the fields of medicine, ecology and biotechnology. This thesis considers the main features associated with viruses and the consequences of their spread on a global and local scale
