Abstract

Equipment used in the food industry is highly susceptible to corrosion, which reduces their service life and negatively affects product quality. In this study, methods for developing the optimal composition of composite polymer materials and coatings based on them were studied in order to effectively protect equipment from corrosion. During the research, combinations of polymer matrices (e.g., epoxy, polyurethane) and additives (nanoparticles, inhibitors) that increase anti-corrosion properties were tested. Experimental results showed that the developed coatings reduce the corrosion rate by up to 80% in chemically aggressive environments (salt, acid, and moisture). The safety and mechanical strength of the coatings in contact with food were also tested. This method is recommended as an effective solution for increasing the durability of food industry equipment and optimizing costs
