Hymenoptera is one of the most diverse and widespread orders of insects, having evolved from primitive predatory forms to more complex, nectar-feeding forms. This article discusses the important biological features of hymenoptera, such as the structure of their mouthparts, type of nutrition, ovipositors, developmental stages, and social lifestyle. In particular, the ecological role of representatives such as wasps, hornets, and ants, their importance in pollination, and their usefulness in biological control, are emphasized.
