DEVELOPING STUDENTS' LANGUAGE COMPETENCE IN TEACHING DRAMA

Abstract

This article presents several aspects of the development of students' linguistic competence in teaching dramatic works in Kyrgyz literature classes at school. Drama is the most widely used genre with a variety of ideological and artistic problems, it describes various situations encountered in the life of society and human destiny, develops in acute conflict, but the conflict is not as high as in tragedy, but is adapted to resolution. Drama is defined, and in which grades in the school curriculum it is indicated which dramas are taught. Referring to the history of the creation of the drama genre, it is noted that there are several scholars-methodologists who have focused on dramatic works in teaching Kyrgyz literature in secondary schools. The importance of taking into account the successful conditions of teaching to develop students' linguistic competence in teaching dramatic works is shown, and the teacher's actions are suggested. In general, the competencies that students will acquire in the Kyrgyz literature class in the school curriculum are outlined, among which linguistic competence is emphasized.
