This study focuses on the origin, chemical composition, and practical importance of tree gums. Tree gums are secreted from plant tissues upon bark damage, serving as a protective barrier and reserve nutrient source. Particular attention is given to the gums of Astragalus (tragacanth) and apricot trees — their physicochemical properties, composition, and applications. Tragacanth is widely used in pharmaceuticals, while apricot gum finds use in technical and medical fields. The research aims to explore the composition and uses of tree gums and their effective application in industry and pharmacy.
