Abstract

This article provides a detailed review of the effects of cardiac glycosides on the human body, their pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics, clinical use, side effects, drug interactions, monitoring and control methods, and their properties for special patient groups. Cardiac glycosides are compounds used to regulate and strengthen the heart. They are mainly obtained from plants, but can also be obtained from some synthetic sources. Cardiac glycosides are mainly used to regulate the heart's diuresis, blood circulation, and muscle activity. Detailed information is provided on their widespread use as heart strengthening and rhythm regulating drugs.
