DETERMINATION OF THE SOLUBILITY PARAMETERS OF POLYMETHYLENEINDENE BY GRAVIMETRIC METHOD

In this article, the physicochemical properties of a polymer synthesized in the presence of formaldehyde based on the indensulfo compound isolated from the pyrolysis product were studied, in particular, the swelling parameters by the gravimetric method. The swelling of the polymer in water was evaluated by centrifugation and vacuum filtration methods and was found to depend on temperature and time.
During the experiment, such main indicators as the swelling coefficient, molecular weight of the spatial network (Mc), density and volume fraction (φ) were calculated. Also, the number of groups and the degree of branching in the polymer chain were determined, and it was shown that branching occurs after 6 monomer units. The results of this work will help to better understand the structural properties of polymethylene indensulfocationite and serve as a scientific basis for future practical research.
