Endofitlar o'simlik to'qimalarida yashaydigan va ularning o'sishiga va stressga chidamliligiga ta'sir qiluvchi mikroorganizmlardir. Ular urug'lar orqali uzatiladi va o'simliklar bilan murakkab aloqalar hosil qiladi, ularni patogenlardan himoya qiladi, ozuqa moddalarining so'rilishini va atrof-muhitga moslashishini yaxshilaydi. Biroq, ularning o'zaro ta'siri simbiotikdan patogengacha farq qilishi mumkin. Maqolada endofitlarning ta'sir qilish mexanizmlari, ularning ekotizimdagi roli va qishloq xo'jaligi va biotexnologiyada foydalanish istiqbollari ko'rib chiqiladi.
