THE ROLE OF LIVER MICROSOMAL OXIDATION PHENOTYPE IN THE PROGRESSION OF DIABETES.

This study provides an in-depth analysis of the role of the liver microsomal oxidation system, in particular the phenotype of the monooxygenase system, in the pathogenesis of diabetes mellitus and its impact on metabolic processes. In experimental animals, in which an alloxan-induced diabetes model was created, the relationship between the metabolizing phenotypes (rapid, intermediate, slow) divided by the level of microsomal oxidation activity with glucose levels, insulin and S-peptide indicators, and glycogen stores was systematically evaluated. The results show that rapid metabolizers under metabolic load have a more severe course of diabetes, with a sharp increase in glucose and a significant decrease in insulin levels. This means that high activity of the monooxygenase system increases metabolic stress and it is necessary to take these phenotypic differences into account when planning individual pharmacotherapy.
