Abstract

This article provides information on the pharmacological significance of the
anise plant (Pimpinella anisum L.), the chemical composition of the essential oil, and its use in medicine. Preparations prepared on the basis of the biologically active substances of the plant are distinguished by their expectorant, anti-inflammatory,
spasmolytic, and beneficial effects on the digestive system in respiratory diseases such as bronchitis,
tracheitis, and laryngitis.
