This thesis provides a thorough analysis of the mechanisms of action of the rabies virus in the body,
in particular, how it spreads and damages the central nervous system. Scientifically based information is provided on the neurotropic properties of the virus, its migration through peripheral nerves, replication in nerve cells, and the pathomorphological changes it causes in brain tissue. The high mortality rate of the virus and the urgency of its early treatment are highlighted.
