Abstract

The thesis explores the integration and impact of artificial intelligence (AI)
technologies in distance education, focusing on their applications and effectiveness in enhancing
the learning experience. It examines how AI tools can improve student engagement, personalize
learning, streamline assessments, and support educators in managing remote classrooms. The
research highlights various AI-driven systems such as adaptive learning platforms, intelligent
tutoring systems, chatbots, and automated grading tools, and assesses their potential to address
challenges inherent in distance learning environments, such as student retention and individualized
support. Additionally, the thesis investigates the ethical considerations, limitations, and challenges
of implementing AI in educational settings, with a particular emphasis on privacy, bias, and
accessibility. The study aims to provide valuable insights into how AI can revolutionize distance
education, improve learning outcomes, and foster more efficient teaching and administrative
practices.
