FOLKLORE TRADITIONS IN "KHAMSA": ORAL FOLKLORE IN NAVAI'S CREATION

Abstract

This article analyzes the expression of folk oral traditions in the work of Alisher Navoi, in particular in his works in the “Khamsa” series. Navoi, acting as a creative bridge between classical literature and folk oral traditions, incorporated folk tales, legends, proverbs, wise sayings, symbolic images, and styles characteristic of the national mentality into his epics. The article highlights the artistic interpretation of folklore motifs based on epics such as “Farhod and Shirin”, “Leyli and Majnun”, and “Sab’ai Sayyor”. It reveals how the characters characteristic of folk heroes, themes such as labor, love, loyalty, justice, and moral values find expression in the folk spirit. The article also analyzes the artistic effectiveness with which folklore elements are incorporated into the text of the work through language and stylistic means. Based on these analyses, the folk character of Navoi's work, its role in reflecting folk wisdom, spirituality and culture in written literature, is revealed
