The transparent butterflies are a type of butterfly that looks like bees and has transparent wings. They are widespread in different regions of the world, and their lifestyle is directly trophically linked to plants. The larvae of species belonging to this family cause serious damage to the stems and roots of plants, negatively affecting ornamental trees and agriculture. This thesis covers important information presented in the scientific literature on the biology and distribution of transparent butterflies.
