MORPHO-BIOLOGY OF THE LARGE-LEAVED LYME (ELAEAGNUS MACROPHYLLA THUNB.) AND ITS ROLE IN GREENING THE CITY OF SAMARKAND

In our study, we have shown that Elaeagnus macrophylla Thunb. is a promising plant for creating green spaces, its role in beautifying residential areas in cities and villages, i.e., its decorativeness, and resistance to plant diseases. One of the most promising types of shrub plants for creating a hedge system is Elaeagnus macrophylla Thunb. This species of the Elaeagnus genus is a frost-resistant, easily formed, and undemanding plant with a number of useful properties that help to screen new buildings, improve parks and suburban areas. In addition to landscaping, its fruits are consumed as food. Honey and oil from its flowers are used in the production of perfumes and cosmetics.
