Abstract

The Earth's natural radiation background is one of the sources of ionizing radiation that is constantly present for human life and the environment. This thesis analyzes natural radiation sources, their effects on the human body, their differences depending on geographical regions, and the importance of biological safety measures. In particular, cosmic rays, radioactive elements in the earth's crust, radon gas, and internal radiation sources are considered. Information on radiation monitoring and safety standards is also provided.
