Thermal power plants operating on the basis of fuel oil and coal are one of the main causes of global environmental problems. This article comprehensively analyzes the negative impact of traditional fuels on the environment, including harmful gas emissions, atmospheric pollution and climate change. In order to reduce environmental risks, existing technological approaches are studied, including gas cleaning systems, integration with renewable energy and carbon capture methods. The article also puts forward innovative proposals, such as the efficient use of thermal energy and the conversion of waste heat into electricity. Based on the results of the research, promising solutions have been developed to increase the environmental safety of thermal power plants.
