Neonatal asphyxia is a serious pathological condition characterized by oxygen deficiency and impaired respiratory function in an infant during or immediately after birth. This condition, classified under codes R21.0-R21.9 in the International Classification of Diseases, 10th revision, can cause varying degrees of damage to the infant's vital organs, particularly the brain, heart, and kidneys, due to lack of oxygen. Complications resulting from asphyxia can negatively affect the child's neurological development and lead to long-term disability. Therefore, early detection, preventive measures, and effective treatment strategies for this condition are among the most important directions in neonatal medicine. This annotation briefly reviews modern diagnostic methods, treatment principles, and preventive measures for neonatal asphyxia
