Membrane proteins are the main functional components of the cell plasma membrane, which play an important role in regulating metabolism, signal transduction, maintaining a stable intracellular environment, and intercellular interactions. This thesis discusses the main types of membrane proteins - integral, peripheral, and lipid-bound proteins - and their biological functions. Also, transport, receptor, enzymatic, and structural functions are explained based on scientific sources.
