This article provides information about the causes of hereditary diseases, their genetic basis and main types. The importance of gene mutations, chromosomal changes, hereditary factors and the influence of the external environment in the occurrence of hereditary diseases is analyzed. The specific features of monogenic, polygenic and chromosomal diseases, their impact on human health and the importance of modern diagnostic methods are also highlighted. The role of early detection and prevention of hereditary diseases and genetic counseling services is also discussed. This topic is important in terms of preserving human health, reducing the transmission of diseases from generation to generation and developing preventive measures in medicine.
