Abstract

This article provides a comprehensive overview of the biotechnological significance of the Qoqioʻt (Taraxacum officinale) plant, including its in vitro propagation from seeds, the stages and advantages of micropropagation, the role of phytohormones, and an analysis of relevant scientific studies. Qoqioʻt is a perennial plant native to the Mediterranean basin and Western Asia, widely distributed globally and traditionally used in Uzbekistan for food and medicine. In recent years, the demand for medicinal plants has been steadily increasing, necessitating their rapid and convenient propagation using biotechnological methods. Our research indicates that supplementing the Murashige and Skoog (MS) culture medium with optimal concentrations of phytohormones significantly enhances the efficiency and success rate of microclonal propagation of the Qoqioʻt plant. This method allows for the production of numerous healthy and genetically uniform plants in sterile conditions within a short period, which is crucial for preserving and multiplying unique genotypes. Furthermore, the presence of inulin, flavonoids, phenolic compounds, carotenoids, vitamins, and minerals in Qoqioʻt makes it a valuable raw material for the pharmaceutical, food, and cosmetology industries.
