This article discusses the role of modern genetics and genomics in studying hereditary diseases, understanding their mechanisms, and implementing prevention strategies. In recent decades, the development of biology and medicine has transformed genomics into a field of particular importance. Genomics studies the complete genetic information of an organism, including DNA sequences, gene functions, and chromosomes. The deciphering of the human genome has laid the foundation for a deeper understanding of the molecular causes of hereditary diseases and their inheritance mechanisms, as well as for creating opportunities for early diagnosis and individualized treatment. Emphasis is placed on early detection through molecular diagnostics, genetic analysis, and innovative technologies. The importance of genetic counseling, preventive measures, and personalized medicine in combating hereditary disorders is also highlighted. Hereditary diseases arise from genetic mutations, chromosomal changes, or multifactorial influences and can affect various systems of the body. The difficulties in their detection and treatment, as well as the increasing possibilities for prevention, enhance the relevance of genomic medicine. The article demonstrates the growing significance of genetics in modern healthcare.References
