Paxta yetishtiruvchi 90 ga yaqin davlatlarda asosan g‘o‘zaning 4 turi ekib o‘stiriladi. G. hirsutum L. 90% dan ortiq hududlarga, G. barbadense L 8%, G. arboretum L. va G. herbaceum L. 1% maydonlarni egallaydi. G‘o‘za seleksiyasining genetik taraqqiyoti uchun genetik xilma-xillikni oshirish muhim ahamiyatga egadir. Bu markerlar yordamida g‘o‘za seleksiyasida istiqbolli raqobatbardosh navlarni yaratish mumkin.
