Ushbu sharhda selenning qalqonsimon bez kasalliklari, shu jumladan autoimmun tiroidit, Graves kasalligi, hipotiroidizm va endemik guatr patogenezi va davolashdagi roli ko'rib chiqiladi. Selen antioksidant fermentlarning ishlashida va qalqonsimon gormonlar almashinuvida ishtirok etadi, tirotsitlarni oksidlovchi stressdan himoya qiladi va immunitet reaktsiyasini tartibga soladi. Zamonaviy adabiyot ma'lumotlari bilan tahlil qilinadi
dalillar darajasi bo'yicha klinik ta'sirlarni farqlash (A-C).
Otoimmün tiroiditda selenni qabul qilish tiroid peroksidazasiga antikorlar darajasini pasaytirishi va klinik holatni yaxshilashi, shu bilan birga samaradorlikni oshirishi aniqlandi.
Graves kasalligida va yod bilan kombinatsiyalangan davolashda qo'shimcha talab qilinadi
tasdiqlash. Selenni organizmdagi darajasini laboratoriya baholash asosida tayinlashda individual yondashuv zarurligi ta'kidlangan. Tekshiruv natijalari qalqonsimon bez kasalliklari bo'lgan bemorlarni boshqarish strategiyasini optimallashtirish uchun asos bo'lib xizmat qilishi mumkin.
