Ramayana an'anasi o'z tarixi davomida har doim sayohat va uchrashuvlarni sezilarli darajada ta'kidlab kelgan. Uni joylashtirish orqali ko'p darajadagi sayohatni osonlashtirish mumkin. Ramayanada tasvirlanganidek, hinduizmning "tasavvur qilingan oltin davri" bu nazariyaga asos bo'lib, hind millatchiligi bu davrni ideallashtirishga asoslanadi. Hindutva mafkurasi umumiy o'tmish timsolini keltirib, Ramayananing keng tarqalganligidan mintaqaviy va keng tarqalgan madaniyat va tilda o'rnatilgan rivoyat sifatida foydalangan "xayoliy hamjamiyat" ni yaratish va mustahkamlash, bu Ramanand Sagarning keng qamrovi va mashhurligi tufayli sezilarli darajada ko'paygan. 1987 yil Ramayana teleseriali. Tarixchilar va shoirlar qizg'in bahs-munozaralarga kirishganiga qaramay, qutblanishdan xoli bitta mashhur Rama ertaki yo'q. Rama ochiq-oydin xato bo'lsa ham, u hali ham qahramon yoki hukmdor deb hisoblanadi, lekin u hech qachon jinoyatchi hisoblanmaydi.
