A carcinogen is a substance that, under certain conditions, can cause cancer and other malignant, life-threatening tumors in the body. Cancer is the leading cause of death worldwide after cardiovascular disease; it is the second leading cause of death worldwide. This can be caused by unhealthy lifestyle behaviors such as eating genetically modified fruits and vegetables and foods that have been exposed to certain pesticides and carcinogens, smoking, and drinking alcohol. It highlights the impact of specific foods on the risk of cancer and its recurrence by providing some examples of carcinogenic compounds
