Abstract

Hepatitis is a dangerous disease that damages and causes inflammation of the liver, and it is one of the most common problems worldwide. This article provides detailed information about the main types of hepatitis, their causes of infection, prevention measures and modern treatment methods. Each of the types of viral hepatitis A, B, C, D and E is characterized by its own transmission mechanism and clinical course. In particular, hepatitis A and E are transmitted through contaminated water and food, while hepatitis B, C and D are mainly spread through blood and sexual contact. Since hepatitis B and C can lead to cirrhosis and liver cancer, their early diagnosis and treatment are important. Various strategies are used to prevent the disease. Vaccines against hepatitis A and B are available, which significantly reduce the spread of the disease. Also, observing personal hygiene rules, establishing safe blood transfusion procedures, practicing safe sex, and using sterile medical instruments are important preventive measures.
