Abstract

This article studies the resistance of Enterococcus spp. bacteria isolated from industrial poultry to various antibiotics. In the course of the study, 38 Enterococcus spp. strains were isolated from 60 samples and their antibiotic susceptibility was assessed by the disk diffusion (Kirby-Bauer) method. The results showed that the isolated strains were highly resistant to antibiotics such as erythromycin, tetracycline, and gentamicin. This confirms the widespread presence of enterococci in poultry and their potential threat to human health. The study emphasizes the need for responsible use of antibiotics and continuous monitoring of the susceptibility of microorganisms [1].
