This thesis analyzes the main etiological factors, clinical signs, diagnostic methods, and modern treatment approaches leading to liver cirrhosis. Liver cirrhosis is a chronic disease that leads to long-term inflammation and tissue fibrosis, the main causes of which include viral hepatitis (B and C), alcohol abuse, fatty liver disease, autoimmune and hereditary metabolic disorders. The disease may initially be asymptomatic, but later manifests itself with jaundice, ascites, encephalopathy, ecchymosis, and liver failure. Diagnosis is based on laboratory tests, instrumental examinations (ultrasound, FibroScan, CT, MRI), and biopsy. The treatment strategy includes eliminating the cause, diet, medications (hepatoprotectors, diuretics), and in severe cases, liver transplantation. The article also highlights the importance of early detection of cirrhosis and preventive measures.
