Abstract

Zebrafish (Danio rerio) has become one of the most studied model organisms in biology and medicine in recent years. These small freshwater fish, despite their modest appearance, contain approximately 70% of human genes. This makes them an important tool for studying human diseases in depth. The development of zebrafish embryos in the external environment and their transparency simplify genetic manipulation. The ability of this fish to regenerate the heart, eyes, bones and other organs opens up great prospects in regenerative medicine. It is also widely used by modern Contract Research Organizations (CROs), including Biobid, to test drugs and disease models. This thesis provides an in-depth analysis of the biological properties of zebrafish, their role in scientific research and their impact on human health.
