BIOECOLOGY AND DISTRIBUTION OF CONVOLVULUS L. GENUS SPECIES DISTRIBUTED IN SURKHAN STATE RESERVE

Abstract

The genus Convolvulus L. belongs to the family Convolvulaceae Juss. and has a wide geographical range - it is a cosmopolitan genus of plants found mainly in tropical and subtropical regions. The species belonging to this genus in the territory of the Surkhan State Reserve are distinguished by their morphological diversity. Most of these species are of particular importance for their medicinal, nutritional and ornamental properties. The occurrence of the genus Convolvulus L. in the Surkhan State Reserve is important from a biogeographical point of view, as they are mainly distributed in areas characteristic of mountain foothills, hills and river valleys. These species are adapted to local flora conditions, and their competitive interactions with other plants have also been studied. Currently, 1962 species belonging to 59 genera have been recorded in this family [12]. The genus Convolvulus L. itself has 208 species [12]; Of these, more than 23 species have been identified in Central Asia [1], and more than 14 species in Uzbekistan [2]. Herbarium specimens of 10 species have been collected in Surkhandarya region, and recent studies have shown the distribution of 4 species of the genus Convolvulus L. in the Surkhandarya State Reserve [6].
