THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN BIOCHEMICAL INDICATORS OF DIABETES AND BODY COMPOSITION: AN ANALYSIS OF MODERN SCIENTIFIC APPROACHES

This article examines the relationship between body composition (fat mass, lean mass, TMI) and clinical and biochemical blood parameters (glucose, HbA1c, insulin, lipid profile) in patients with type 2 diabetes. The significance of this correlation is determined based on an analysis of scientific studies conducted worldwide. It has been found that metabolic disorders, insulin resistance and glucose tolerance worsen with increasing body fat and visceral obesity. Studies emphasize the need for monitoring body composition for individualized diabetes management.
