Abstract

PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) technologies play a key role in industrial automation systems. The programming process of these systems requires high reliability, modularity and standardization. IEC 61131-3, developed taking into account such requirements, is an international standard that creates a single and understandable basis for programming PLC systems. This article examines the programming languages ​​provided by the IEC 61131 standard, especially its third part (IEC 61131-3) - Ladder Diagram (LD), Function Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), Instruction List (IL) and Sequential Function Chart (SFC). The article discusses the use, advantages and role of each language in real industrial systems with examples. Technical aspects such as data types, functional blocks and test tools are also widely covered.
