Abstract

The study investigated the changes in immunological parameters and protease inhibitors in women with and without genital infections in the early stages of pregnancy up to 12 weeks. It was concluded that the absence of significant pro-inflammatory immunity in early pregnancy, an adequate corrective response of protease inhibitors and TGF-β1, even in the presence of infectious factors, can contribute to the favorable course of early pregnancy and the development of full-term pregnancy. Therefore, studies of pro-inflammatory (TNF-α, IL-1β) and anti-inflammatory interleukins (IL-10), as well as protease inhibitors (α-1-anti-trypsin) and TGF-β1 can be used as markers of the adequacy of the immune system in early pregnancy.
