THE SEMIOTIC NATURE OF THE ART OF EMBROIDERY AND THE SCIENTIFIC-THEORETICAL BASIS IN THE CONSTRUCTION OF CULTURAL IDENTITY

This scientific article provides an in-depth analysis of the semiotic structure, iconographic genesis, and transformative role of Uzbek embroidery in the formation of cultural identity. The research examines the pattern systems, color codes, cosmological, and ritual layers of embroidery based on semiology, visual anthropology, structural functionalism, and cultural semiosphere theories. Historical-discursive reconstruction, iconographic decoding, ethnographic observation, sociological interviewing, and content analysis were used as methodological approaches. The results show that embroidery, as a semiotic entity, acts as a complex communicative mechanism that visually encodes the value system, collective memory, and gender identity of society. The reinterpretation of embroidery in the modern fashion industry is creating meaningful shifts in its semantic layers.
