Acne vulgaris is one of the most common dermatological diseases of adolescence, occurring in up to 80–90% of adolescents, according to various sources, and in some cases continuing into adulthood. Despite being a skin disease, acne has a significant impact not only on physical appearance, but also on mental state, self-esteem, and social adaptation. Changes related to appearance, especially during adolescence, increase psychological sensitivity.
