Akne vulgaris o‘smirlik davrida eng ko‘p uchraydigan dermatologik kasalliklardan biri bo‘lib, turli manbalarga ko‘ra o‘smirlarning 80–90% gacha qismida uchraydi va ayrim hollarda kattalar yoshida ham davom etadi. Teri kasalligi bo‘lishiga qaramay, akne nafaqat jismoniy ko‘rinishga, balki ruhiy holatga, o‘ziga baho berishga va ijtimoiy moslashuvga ham sezilarli ta’sir ko‘rsatadi. Ayniqsa o‘smirlik davrida tashqi ko‘rinish bilan bog‘liq o‘zgarishlar psixologik sezuvchanlikni oshiradi.
