Abstract

This article analyzes the existing problems in teaching a foreign language in mixed-ability primary classes and develops special individual learning models for working with students with different levels of mastery. During the research, students in the class were stratified according to their mastery speed and a set of tasks adapted to them was applied. Most importantly, a "self-assessment scale" was integrated into the lessons in order to objectively assess students' knowledge and form a sense of independence and responsibility in them. Practical observations and the results obtained showed that children's self-analysis of their results has a strong positive effect on their motivation. This approach increased confidence and activity in the lesson among students with low mastery, and as a result, improved the overall quality of foreign language mastery of the entire class.
