Abstract

According to available data, the normal function of blood vessels is ensured
by the activity of various ion transport systems located in the membrane of blood-vascular
smooth muscle cells and in the sarcoplasmic reticulum [1,2]. It was noted that potentialdependent Ca2+
-channels located in the plasmalemma play an important role, and Ca2+-
transport systems are one of the central components in the contraction function of smooth
muscle cells [3]. Taking into account the above information, the purpose of this research work
is to study the mechanism of relaxant effect of 2,3-di-O-galloyl--d-glucose (GT-3)
hydrolyzable tannin.
