Abstract

This thesis examines natural and artificial sources of ionizing radiation and their harmful effects on human health and the environment. It analyzes types of radiation (alpha, beta, gamma, neutron) and their pathways of exposure. While highlighting applications in medicine, energy, and industry, it addresses nuclear disasters (Chernobyl, Fukushima) and radioactive waste challenges. The conclusion discusses modern radiation protection methods and standards set by international organizations (WHO, IAEA).
