Abstract

In the article, mitochondrial membrane permeabilization is important in cell
death by apoptosis or necrosis. Most of the signals leading to cell death arrive at the
mitochondria, for example, Bcl-2 proteins such as Bid and Bad are involved in this process.
Different ways of new formation of internal signals of the cell lead to activation of the
caspase system, increase in the concentration of Ca2+, nitrogen (II) oxide, amphipathic
peptides and ceramides in the cytosol, directly or indirectly, changes in mitochondrial ion
permeability.
